I “got my big break” in our school district as a lead teacher with our state’s free, lottery funded Pre-K program. I enjoyed the little guys and had a very memorable first year. However, Pre-K is a thing of the past! I was offered a position within the same school as a third grade teacher and then moved to second this school year as we restructured everything thanks to district budget cuts, etc. Oh, the faith my administration must have in me! So here I am, third year and am entering yet another grade-level. "This should be interesting", I thought to myself back in August.
We are now in coming upon the end of the school year, testing season, and I have grown to love my seconds. We have been able to really have fun with many things throughout this year. I have seen some real strugglers grow immensely and my brightest bloom further! We are embarking on even more changes as the year wraps up and only fate knows what it holds for next year!
